From my early childhood, I dreamed of being a farmer.  A farmer is a visionary artist who can see the potential of beauty sprouting from a blank slate of earth.  This constant desire to create has led me down unique pathways in life, both personally and professionally, and has challenged me to venture into the unknown, embrace passions, and to pursue excellence.

Hobbies

Stepping into the world of Japan after graduating from college ignited a fire in me to understand and appreciate various aspects of the Japanese culture:  Language, Visual Arts, Gardening and Cuisine.  These attributes of Japanese culture have developed into some of my personal passions which have given me a great sense of achievement and fulfillment.  It has also developed within me a deeper appreciation of my own culture and a deeper respect for other cultures and people.

I was fortunate to start playing tennis at an early age.  Today I enjoy playing recreational tennis three times a week and occasionally even play in tournaments. As an advanced player, tennis has been a great way to socialize and meet new people at home and while living abroad.  One of my bucket lists is to visit every Grand Slam:  Wimbledon, French Open, US Open and Australian Open.

Cooking and hosting people at my home for dinner parties has been a great way for me to strengthen friendships, build community and meet new people.  This interest in cooking began when I lived in Japan and hosted Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday parties for my Japanese friends. I did not know what I was doing at that time, but I wasn’t afraid to crack open a cookbook and attempt new recipes.  Today, I regularly host dinner parties in my home where I teach my friends how to cook and entertain.
